Thank you for expressing an interest in using our Sire/stud in your breeding program.

Enclosed you will find a copy of his pedigree and our policies concerning stud services

to outside dams. Before a commitment for breeding is made, please consider the following.

Prior to a breeding agreement, we require from you:

1. A photocopy of your Dam’s AKC registration.

2. A legible three-generation pedigree.

3. A recent photograph of the Dam.

4. Health clearance (if required for shipping)

Following an agreement to breed, it is required that you:

1. Provide a veterinary certificate of all current vaccinations and worming records, including

rabies, and treatments of the Dam, to ensure she is in good health and does not carry any

communicable diseases into our breeding program.

 

2. Pay all transportation costs for the Dam. Airport pick-up and delivery fees to KCI airport

will be arranged when the decision to ship is determined. (To be paid BEFORE the

dam is shipped). Additional charges for board and transportation of the dam shall be

charged at the following rates:

 

A. Board charges are waived for the first 5 days after which, Boarding will be charged at

$7.50 per day.

B. Transportation to/from airport at $20.00 per trip.

C. Additional veterinary charges deemed appropriate by both owners shall be charged

to the Dam’s owner at their usual rates.

3. Pay all veterinary costs, at the time of service, while the Dam is in our care. This would

include vaginal smears, artificial insemination (if the Dam is unreceptive to natural breeding

or we are unhappy with the culture reports, etc.) Veterinary costs to be discussed with dam’s

owner prior to charges being made.

 

4. Pay all expenses if using fresh chilled semen including collection kits, semen collection,

shipping charges, etc.

 

5. Agree that puppies resulting from this breeding shall not knowingly be sold either directly,

or to an agent thereof, who sells outright or consigns to a pet shop, kennel, or individual

whose purpose is mass production, wholesaling, or retailing of purebred dogs.

 

Prior to an agreement to breed, our responsibilities to you are as follows:

 

1. To provide a photocopy of Sire/studs AKC registration.

2. To provide you a copy of a Three-generation pedigree.

3. Sire/stud is proven of semen and of producing puppies that are healthy and alive at birth.

 

All proposed Dams must meet the following criteria:

 

1. The Dam must be in good physical condition. She must be free of fleas and ticks and must

have a bath before she arrives.

2. The Dam must have a stable temperament.

3. If she is five years of age or older she ought to have a current t4 thyroid test.

4. Owner of the Dam agrees to keep the dam confined and inaccessible to all other male

dogs from the start of her heat cycle until the dam is fully out of heat.

 

Our stud service policy:

 

1. The Sire/stud fee is $300.00. Half is payable upon the Dams arrival. The balance is due when

the Dam is returned to owner. The owner of the Dam identified above agrees on the date

signed below that the stud fee must be paid to the stud dog owner before we will sign the

AKC litter registration application. IF a payback puppy is agreed upon by both parties it will

be stated below under “other conditions are as follows” and stud fee of $300.00 will be waived.

 

NOTE: The American Kennel Club takes the position that the owner of the sire is required

to sign an application to register a litter certifying only to the fact that a particular Dam was

bred to the Sire/stud identified on the Litter Registration Application form on a specified date

of mating. Unless there is an agreement signed by all parties concerned in which it is

specifically set forth that the owner of the sire is not obligated to sign an American

Kennel Club litter registration application form until such time as the stud fee has been paid.

 

2. One or more puppies, alive at birth, constitute a litter.

 

3. This contract will guarantee the actual mating of listed dogs. Sire/stud fee of $300.00

is due as stated above. No fee will be refunded should Dam fail to whelp. However, if less

than one puppy are alive at birth or if the Dam should fail to conceive and stud owner

receives written notification of same within 30 days of whelping date, a return service will be

given at the next heat to the very same Dam. If Dam changes ownership or fails to conceive

after return service, this contract is terminated.

 

4. Any deviation from this standard contract will be noted below as agreed to by the

parties involved. Signature of this contract acknowledges acceptance of all terms by both

parties.

 

5. Owner of the Sire/stud dog agrees to keep the Dam to be bred confined and inaccessible

to all other male dogs until the Dam has been bred and returned to her owner.

 

6. Reasonable care will be given to the Dam while in the possession of the Sire/stud dog owner.

While all due diligence shall be maintained in the care of the Dam, the stud owners shall not

be liable for death, illness, nor any losses or damages irregardless of how incurred.

 

7. The owner of the Sire/stud will appraise the offspring of this breeding for the owner of the

Dam at no charge when the puppies are six weeks of age. The owner of the Dam shall

make advance arrangements for this service, if the owner of the Dam wishes for this service.

 

8. The owner of the Sire/stud will, as a matter of courtesy only, refer prospective puppy

purchasers to the owner of the Dam when the puppies are at least seven weeks old, if the

owner of the Dam wishes.

 

9. Dam’s owner will notify Sire/stud dog’s owner within 24 hours of birth of litter citing

the number of puppies and sexes.

 

10. Violations of this contract shall entitle the stud dog owner to $2000.00 in liquidated

damages.

 

11. Other conditions are as follows:

 

A. If a payback puppy is the agreement for this Breeding: To replace the $300.00

Stud fee, Sire/stud dog owners will receive the pick of the litter.

B. The Sire/stud dog owners shall have the right to choose his/her pick of the puppy

from the resulting litter at the age four to six weeks of age to be delivered (or picked up)

at 8 weeks. No puppy/puppies may be sold or removed from this litter without the prior

approval of the Sire/stud dog owner until the payback puppy has been selected.

C. The Sire/stud dog owner will be given sole ownership and control of the payback

puppy’s name.

 

****This contract guarantees the actual mating of listed dogs only and not of a pregnancy or

puppies. No fee will be refunded should Dam fail to whelp. One puppy whelped live constitute a

litter. A free service will be given by the same stud at the next heat of the same Dam if

written/oral notice is given to stud owner within 30 days of whelping date. Unless such notice is

given, the return service is cancelled. If stud is not available, if Dam changes ownership,

or fails to conceive after return service, this contract is terminated. Litter registration

application will be signed after full payment of fee or possession of pick puppy(ies) from the litter,

but not before puppies are 10 days old.
